紅石ACT學員Welly ACT作文10分高分心得(2014.12月ACT正式考試)

Welly Wang ACT writing 10/12 Tips: (KC 11th)
For me, I think everyone should always use a writing template to help finish their ACT essay (But one should make his own and never fully copy from others, b/c it will make your essay not fluent enough). We got trained at Red Rock, where Lucas provided us students a lot of ACT official writing resources and templates and I just crafted my own writing template.
Ok, for the "thinking idea" part, I think when you received the question, go straight toward writing the first paragraph (since the first paragraph is mostly covered by the template already). While you're writing constructing your first paragraph, you should start thinking about the points that you want to use as your BODY PARAGRAPH 1 & 2. Point 1, in fact, is always easy to make up; however, it is always the Point 2 that's going to make you suffer b/c most arguments only got 1 obvious point or argument to make (to solve this problem... DO MORE ESSAY PRACTICE!).
Apart from thinking your arguments, remember to include 1 example (better place it in second body paragraph) b/c ACT ppl are JUST TOTALLY OBSESSED with random examples. If you can't think of any... then make up ONE! (I always love to use my imaginary friend John or Paul for my "fake" example).
REMEMBER! Since the first paragraph can be done quickly since most are already written in the template (if you dunno what I'm talking about, look at my Writing Template), you should spend less time on the first paragraph and use more time on the rest instead.
When you're writing your conclusion, be sure to include bolder words and write as if your point can make a huge influence---> more persuasive. Be sure to take your time when writing conclusion since it's the end of your essay, and people usually start making funny spelling mistakes here!
RELAX YOURSELF! This is also another important tip. If you panicked, you will never be able to bring up persuasive or logical arguments; however, if you just imagine that you are not writing an essay but trying to debate against an anonymous, it will be easier for you to think of numerous arguing points. (At least it worked like magic for me)...
