I think the key to ACT writing is to relax. Regardless of the ideas you have, be aware of your own paste and the amount of writing on your paper. Briefly go through every topic Lucas provided before the test and have an idea on every scenario that is going to pop up. In this case, you will save time on brainstorming before the writing section, time is limited, a three to four page essay is expected. There is no time to stop and think. On the other hand, if a topic is against your will, stick to the one that you can write more on, even though you may not agree on it, if it is the opinion that has more facts or more story to tell, it is the one you should write about. Also, for the counter argument, do mention ideas that are against your opinion you are writing on, but try not to attack your own ideas, or else in this case, your essay will seem undetermined. Lastly, a conclusion is important, think of it like a kite, no matter how far it is up in the sky, you still have to pull the string back in order to not go off topic.
